James Rose Oriental Carpets was originally established in Altrincham Cheshire in 1975. James’s great love of oriental carpets had driven him to read and study providing a wealth of knowledge rare in this country.

In 1989, son in law Steve joined James, and the business went from strength to strength

In 2006 the business relocated to a quirky garden centre in Lymm, which has sadly closed, bringing us to the beautiful location of Knutsford , with its stunning picture card streets and lovely buildings .

In 2017 James Rose now offers a totally online service. We now can offer a much larger range of stock at more affordable prices and are happy to bring a selection of carpets of your choosing to your home so you can select the perfect rug without the need to move out of your home.

We strive to achieve a personal customer service, and are renowned for sourcing a wide variety of beautiful oriental specialist rugs and carpets for customers all over the UK.

As always we also sell and fit quality wood floors, using brands such as Ted Todd, Woodpecker,Xylo flooring and many more, fitting the floors personally gives our clients confidence that the product fitting and customer care will be second to none.

If we do not already have the item in stock we will make every effort to source it or we can arrange for you to visit the one of the many wholesalers we use to help you select from the largest selection in the UK.

We also offer a full oriental carpet and rug repair cleaning and valuation service.

If you live within 50 miles of Knutsford we’ll happily bring a selection of carpets or rugs out to you for home trial should this be necessary – we appreciate how important it is to find a piece as individual as your lifestyle and your homes. (We are prepared to travel further depending on the value of your purchases)
